Knollwood Club of Lake Forest Illinois is a private club incorporated April 26, 1924. The membership enjoys many amenities on its 250 plus acres; racquet sports, pool, a lavish campus of historical buildings by renowned architect "Howard Shaw" and a world class golf course on 175 acres.

Knollwood Club is listed among the great Clubs, which have played host to national and international golfing events. An achievement of such honor is recognition of the championship caliber of the golf course. For example, National Amateur Championship of the United States Golf Association was held at Knollwood in September of 1956, and the course proved itself a real test for the world's amateur golfers. Again the excellent conditions at Knollwood prompted the United States Golf Association to select it as host to the Second U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship in September of 1982. Knollwood Club was again recognized when the Professional Golfers Association of America selected Knollwood to host the Thirteenth International PGA Cup Matches in September, 1986.

In the PGA Cup an outstanding team of American Club Professionals defeated the best that Great Britain and Ireland had to offer, 16 to 9. Following the Matches, Mickey Powell then president of the PGA of America and Charles Hughes, then Captain of the British PGA, agreed that no club could have been better suited, more cordial or accommodating, and they praised the warmth and friendship extended to them by the Knollwood Club membership.
